Using finite element analysis (FEA) driven by a Cray Supercomputer, PING engineers optimized the G10 driver's crown, sole and face structure interaction to ensure maximum energy transfer to the ball. The Ping G10 driver is a 460 cc titanium head designed to create a high launch angle, while maintaining a lower ball spin off the clubface.
The design of the clubface features a steeper face and a deeper crown that produces a higher MOI. This is designed to give the golfer more forgiveness and increased ball velocity off the clubface. The clubhead has a black, glossy finish.
The Ping G10 Driver is available in degree 9 and 10.5. There is one standard shafts to choose from---the stock graphite---with flex ranging from regular to stiff.
The G10 has new cosmetics, taller face and deeper crown, the real change is internal. Engineers repositioned weight saved from the thinner face and crown to lower the center of gravity.
